Your young adults will want their teenager birthday parties to be a little more fun and just plain cool than those parties they used to have as kids. On your part this may take either a little more ingenuity or a little more money. Hopefully you opt for more ingenuity.
A party theme that is becoming very popular is the glowsticks party. Glowsticks are small plastic tubes that emit a phosphorescent light when they are activated. Usually this light is neon and comes in colors like green, purple, blue, yellow, and red. Glowsticks don’t just come in tubes anymore either. You’ll find that there are necklaces, bracelets, pendants and even cup holders that light up your drink with an eerie glow. Due to this wide variety of glowsticks media available parties have sprung up that make heavy use of them. If you have a glowsticks party you’ll need to buy a lot of glowsticks. String the bracelets together and hang them like garlands, hand out glowsticks as party favors and keep the lights low or have the party in the backyard during the evening.
A Safari Party is perfect for costume parties. Have your teenager’s guests arrive dressed up in safari gear or as the animals on the safari. For party favors you can hand out one time use cameras and let the kids take photos of some of the unusual animals that show up at the Safari. You can also purchase lots of plastic safari hats or animal striped hats to hand out to the kids. Play animal sounds in the background and hang up lots of green and tan streamers.
Pool parties make great events for those teenagers who happen to have a birthday during the warmer months. You are certain to have a high turn out because everyone wants a chance to cool off. Water games can be entertaining but do be sure to keep an eye out and stop too many people from getting in the pool at once. Combine this with a BBQ party for some great eats.
